Heating Repair in Henderson

What to Do When Your Heater Isn’t Working

You can start by checking simple things, such as making sure your thermostat is set to “heat” and the set temperature is higher than the current room temperature. If your system has a power switch near the unit, you can confirm it is in the “on” position. If you notice anything unusual, like a burning smell, strong electrical odor, or loud grinding sounds, it’s usually best to turn the system off and wait for a technician to take a look. Continuing to run a system that sounds or smells wrong can sometimes lead to more damage.

You can reach out to us for a free estimate. We can schedule a time that works for you, explain what we see, and give you options so you can decide how to move forward.

Our Heating Repair Process

Our process keeps you informed from scheduling through the final system test.

Scheduling & Arrival

When you contact Mr. Cool Heating & Air Conditioning, our office team can gather a few details about what your heater is doing and help you find a convenient appointment time. We strive for same-day scheduling whenever our calendar and staffing allow, and we offer weekend appointments at no extra charge for homeowners who can’t easily meet during the week.

Diagnosis, Estimate & Repair

Once our technician arrives, they can introduce themselves, listen to your concerns, and take a look at your system. We work on residential furnaces and heat pumps throughout the Henderson area. The technician can inspect the system, test operation, and look for the root cause of the problem instead of just addressing the symptom. That inspection can include checking thermostat operation, electrical controls, ignition components, airflow, and safety controls.

After the inspection, we explain our findings in clear, straightforward terms. You’ll receive a written estimate that outlines the recommended work and the cost. If there’s more than one way to approach the issue, we describe your options and answer your questions without pressure. If you approve the repair, our technician can complete the work and test the system again to confirm proper operation. We clean up our work area before leaving and review what was done with you. All work is backed by our warranty.

Signs Your Heater Needs Professional Attention

A system can need attention even when it’s still running. Changes in performance, sound, odor, or cycling behavior are all worth noting. You don’t need to identify the failed part on your own. A symptom points toward a problem, but diagnosis is what determines the right repair.

Common warning signs that may indicate your furnace or heat pump needs a professional look:

• Uneven temperatures from room to room, even when doors and windows are closed
• Short cycling, meaning the system turns on and off much more often than it used to
• Rising energy bills without a change in habits or usage
• Unusual noises such as banging, rattling, or squealing from the unit
• New smells, especially burning or musty odors when the system runs
• Weak airflow from supply vents or cool air when the heat is set to run

When you call Mr. Cool Heating & Air Conditioning, our technicians can diagnose your furnace or heat pump. We explain the likely cause and your options, including whether a repair is practical or replacement warrants consideration. We can discuss those choices without pushing you in either direction.

Heater Repair in Henderson’s Desert Climate

Henderson sits in the Mojave Desert, where warm, dry summers get most of the attention. But winter nights tell a different story. January averages a high near 54°F and a low around 41°F, and Southern Nevada can see freezing temperatures during cold snaps. For many households, a functioning furnace or heat pump makes a real difference in overnight comfort during those months.

Some heating equipment may sit unused for long stretches before being called back into service each fall. That seasonal shift can surface problems that went unnoticed during warmer months. When we evaluate a heater, we consider the property’s specific equipment and what the homeowner needs to stay comfortable through the cooler season.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much will my heater repair cost?

Repair cost depends on the failed component, system type, equipment condition, labor, and required parts. We provide free estimates and explain the problem and available options before giving you a written estimate. If the repair is more extensive, we can also discuss financing options through our office.

How do I know whether I need a repair or a new heater?

Deciding between repairing and replacing a heater can depend on factors like the age of your system, the type of problem, how often it has needed work in recent years, and the scope of what’s needed now. During a visit, our technician can inspect your system, explain what they find, and discuss the expected service life of your current equipment. We focus on honest recommendations so you can make an informed decision.
